The Szeleste-Csorna segment of the M86 constitutes the next and final part – after the M85 and
the Csorna bypass – in the effort to link Szombathely to the Hungarian high-speed bloodstream.
By connecting existing 2×2-lane bypass sections with completely new stretches of pavement,
a nearly 60-kilometre-long high-speed road has been realised. Owing to the investment, settlements
along main road 86 have been relieved from significant traffic loads, while the section
allows faster access to Budapest and Hegyeshalom through the M1.
